Smart Trailer - Tiny House Trailer Plans
We have designed and built the poplar Smart Trailer from the start and now the plans for version one are available for instant digital download for the fabricator or DIY.
Length from 3.2m to 10.2m
Width either 2.4m or 2.95m (easy to adjust if necessary)
Dolly can be adjusted forward and back to ensure perfect balancing.
Dolly, drawbar and lightboard can be removed to be used for something else like a utility trailer, get a WOF or pickup materials.
Rated to carry 3.5 tonne including trailer.
All steel profiles are commonly available from suppliers.
It is possible to attach drawbar at either end of deck.
Can be hot galv dipped, painted or made from pre galv steel.
Optional lifting jacks to easily remove deck and level house for building.
Wheels sit under floor, meaning no wheels arches in living area.
U bolts and bolts used to attach drawbar dolly and lightboard.
Deck height is 650mm and drawbar length is 1500mm
Option for wireless or hardwired brakes.
Digital Plans
These are modular plans, so select which plans you need. If 7.8m and under or under 3.5T buy tailer, deck, drawbar and tandem dolly. If over 7.8m or 3.5T buy tandem and single dolly plus others. Please check with you local authority that it is legal to tow on road in the designed configurations. It is not legal to tow over 2.55m on NZ roads in this configuration, would be better suited for truck transported.
Non braked rated to 1750Kg. Recommended to be used with decks 8m and over in combination with tandem dolly.

Steel members can be brought in pre galv, or you can hot dip galv as our preferred option.
It is possible to attach trailer and drawbar at either end of deck.

Flange around whole perimeter with holes for strong floor / subfloor connection.
Wheels sit under floor, meaning no wheels arches in living area.
Option for wireless or hardwired brakes.
It is possible to move light board from deck to trailer.
