Can we make trailer over 3.1m wide and 12.5m long?

For a simple light trailer on NZ roads the max length is 12.5m and 3.1m wide as a category one overdimension load. The cost effective way to transport a trailer from Napier to anywhere in NZ is on its own wheels. As long as it falls within the above dimensions this is possible. Also need to take into account a drawbar of least a meter long making the deck 11m long max.

But can we make trailer over 3.1m wide and 12.5m long? Answer is yes but would need to be transported to site via another simple light trailer or truck with a pilot vehicle if 3.1m or wider. There is extra cost involved in this.

Another option is to use the Smart Trailer system and build two decks say 2m wide. The decks can be stacked for road transportation with one trailer (wheels & drawbar) to reduce cost. Once on site the two decks can be connected together to form a 4m wide home. We can use various lifting points and jacks to set the decks up on site. The trailer can be keep under one of the decks or removed and put to another use.
